As part of our #GivingTuesday effort this year, Vagabond Players wants to give back to the community we have called home for over 50 years. Our current production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee inspired us to host a school supply drive to benefit Fells Point’s own Wolfe Street Academy.
Wolfe Street Academy is a PK, K-5 Baltimore City Public School with Conversion Charter Status. This means Wolfe Street was previously a traditional public school that sought the responsibility and right to take on the greater independence of charter status. Unlike other charters that fill all seats by lottery, Conversion Charters maintain the enrollment zone that they previously served as a traditional school, serving all students in their zone regardless of lottery timelines. The school serves students and their families in the Upper Fells Point neighborhood.
With the holiday season fast approaching, please help us support the students and teachers in our community. All new school supplies are welcome and appreciated. Want to help but not sure what to give, Wolfe Street Academy has provided the below list of most needed supplies:
- Kids scissors (blunt or rounded tip)
- Pencils (regular, not mechanical)
- Pens – black & blue
- Glue sticks
- Dry erase markers (low odor)
- Composition books (primary journal K-2, wide ruled)
- Spiral notebooks (wide ruled)
- Sharpie permanent markers
- Crayons
- Pink pearl erasers
- Two pocket folders
Donations can be dropped off at our box office (806 S. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231) during any of our performances of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee running through November 17 - check out the show page for performance dates and times.
